As recently shared in the Owl’s Perch, Finance and Administration (F&A) is embarking on a transformative journey through the development of a strategic plan that aligns with Rice’s growth objectives. Set to launch this September, F&A’s strategic plan process aims to propel student enrollment, faculty development, and research endeavors to new heights. This initiative is a collaborative process that will integrate insights from community panel discussions, harness the expertise of a dedicated F&A employee working group, and leverage feedback from the F&A leadership team.
After careful consideration, a cohort of community members have been selected by their department leaders to serve as part of the working group. These individuals have been chosen to represent their respective departments and also bring a wealth of diverse perspectives shaped by their unique experiences. With a forward-thinking and aspirational mindset, they will help set the course for F&A's five-year trajectory.
Over the next two months, the working group will convene frequently to engage in community panel discussions. These interactions will shape the group's understanding of the aspirations and needs of the Rice community. Armed with these insights, the working group will craft a set of ambitious and purpose-driven goals that will drive F&A’s activities. These goals will serve as a roadmap for the division as it strengthens its skills, capabilities, and infrastructure, ensuring alignment with the growth targets outlined in the university's strategic plan.
