F&A Updates for November 2023

Dear colleagues,

As Thanksgiving nears, I reflect on the progress our division has made this year. In the spirit of gratitude, I want to express my deepest appreciation for each and every one of you. I am appreciative of the hard work and dedication that each of you brings each day. Our collective efforts are moving the campus forward and creating a positive work environment.

As I reflect on this time of gratitude, I am also reminded that there are those in our community who may be facing challenging times personally or in the community. We care about you and have resources to help through the Employee Assistance Program. Additionally, I encourage all of us to look beyond our immediate circle and contribute positively to the well-being of our community.

An example of going above and beyond was celebrated this month. Rice University Police Department (RUPD) was presented with the Above and Beyond Award for their exceptional service to our community.  This recognition celebrates RUPD’s round-the-clock efforts to ensure campus safety and care in responding to emergencies. This service has been particularly critical over the last few weeks with the surge of on-campus events. Thank you, RUPD!

Nominations for F&A community members who go above and beyond can be submitted by any campus member through the online form

Thank you for your hard work, dedication, and the positive energy you bring.  Wishing you and your loved ones a Thanksgiving filled with warmth and gratitude.

With sincere appreciation,

Kelly
